A shrub is a drink, not a plant, didn’t you know?
A super refreshing drink that pack’s a punch and is the perfect summer thirst quencher.
Apparently, you can add alcohol, but don’t quote us on that! 😁
(recipe will make about 20 servings)
  • 375ml bottle of your favourite SOOC  White Balsamic, such as:
(Others too! Before you make a ‘batch’ try a tablespoon of any other flavour mixed with 6 – 8 ounces of sparkling water. If you like it, then you can use it in this recipe.)
  • 1 cup of fresh strawberries roughly chopped or broken to release juices (OR whatever seasonal fruit is FRESHEST!)
  • 3-4 thin slices of lemon
  • 1/2 cup English Cucumber, thin slices

For Serving:

Club soda/plain sparkling water (to serve)
Optional ingredients when serving:
Fresh strawberries sliced
Lemon slices
Fresh mint leaves
In a large glass (non-reactive) bowl add the broken fresh fruit, cucumber and lemon slices, pour SOOC White Balsamic and refrigerate for two to four hours. The longer it sits, the more pronounced the flavour of the infused fruit will be. Strain, keep in a tightly sealed container (or put it back in the bottle) and refrigerate for up to two months.
To serve, add 1-2 tablespoons of shrub for every 6-8oz of chilled sparkling water. Add fresh fruit, lemon and mint. Serve chilled over ice.
