After our long dark winters, what’s better than when the first Ontario Asparagus appears at our local Farm Market?!

Prepare it simply, so it’s natural flavour stands out. Be sure the grill or oven are hot before cooking, it should be done in under 15 minutes.


1 large bunch of Asparagus
2 T SOOC Eureka Lemon Olive Oil
1 t SOOC Serrano Honey Vinegar
Sea salt (optional) & fresh ground pepper to taste
Shaved Parmesan (optional)
Some soaked wooden skewers (for the grill)


Preheat oven to 400 F, grill on high.
Wash asparagus & snap off tough ends.
Place on a flat pan and drizzle with SOOC Eureka Lemon Olive Oil & Serrano Honey Vinegar, shake pan to coat.
You want it all coated. Sprinkle with salt (if using) and pepper.
Cook on pan in oven OR skewer 5 or 6 at a time for the grill.
In oven cook for 15 minutes, shake to reposition at about the halfway point.
On grill, flip 3 times to grill twice on each side.

Serve with more fresh ground pepper and if you’re feeling decadent a small amount of shaved Parmesan
